In 2015, Syria had an uprising-turned-civil war which has forced about 11 million people out of the country or to other parts of Syria. Here are a couple of organizations that help with this burden.
Syrian American Medical Society provides medical treatment on the ground in southern Syria as well as for refugees in Turkey, Lebanon, and Jordan.
Karam Foundation is a Chicago-based charity that operates out of Turkey to raise funds for rebuilding schools in Syria and securing educational opportunities for Syrian children.
Sunrise USA delivers food, supports education, establishes trauma-care facilities, and facilitates orphan sponsorships.
